  Equality And Diversity

At Forster Community College we are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for learners, staff, volunteers and all those we work in partnership with us such as employers and community groups. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the College feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in College life.

At Forster Community College we believe that diversity is a strength, which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit here. We are committed to practically applying principles of equality in the way we organise, manage and deliver our services, in the employment of our staff on all sites and in our teaching and practice.

In May 2011 Ofsted said,
“Forster Community College promotes equality and diversity well. The college has a culture of inclusion and respect and learners from a wide range of minority ethnic backgrounds, age groups and abilities work well together. Learners develop a good understanding and appreciation of different cultures and religions that tutors reinforce through taught sessions and social activities.”

Everyone working at, or connected to, Forster Community College is fully aware of the benefits of equality, diversity and inclusion and they are required to apply these principles in their teaching and practice.
